A Week Late....Sad News

Well, this post is late. I shoulda updated last week, after Grady's first Beginner Novice leg, but I wasn't ready yet. You see, Grady's trial last weekend was cut short. He was supposed to compete Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He earned his first leg on Friday, but Saturday morning he woke up pretty sick.

Throughout the week, Grady kept waking up having these attacks. He would start hacking and having trouble breathing and eventually coughed up this stuff that made the hooman beans really worried. They said it had a lil bit of blood in it. It was only a couple of times and the hoomans thought maybe it was because they were sleeping with the windows open, since it seemed to only happen in the morning. So, they were going to keep an eye on it, but knew it wasn't normal for Grady's usual allergy attacks.

But Saturday, the 2nd of the trial, he woke up and was having more trouble. He started breathing really funny, tried coughing up, some pink stuff came out and he was really, really tired. So, the lady hooman bean said she wasn't sure if they would go to the trial. I had a really big party planned, so I was hoping Grady would stop so they would go.

They sat with him for a while and he finally calmed down. He seemed like he wanted to go bye-byes, so the lady said they'd go and take it one step at a time. So, they got ready, got in the car and away they went.

About an hour and a half later, they came back, dropped off the stuff from the trial, called the doctor and left me again. But before they left, the sat outside for a little while, sitting and petting Grady, acting very worried. I'm not sure what happened at the trial when they got there, but it didn't seem like good news.

So they get back in the car and head down to the doctor. When they came back, they were very sad. Grady came in, feeling really tired, but happy to be home. I was kinda happy he was home too. All this worry had me worried about what was going on.

But they had pictures. Grady told me, it wasn't good news. Seems Grady's cancer is now spread to his lungs. There are 3 bumps on his lungs that are what is causing all his coughing up stuff and breathings funnies.

So, the hoomans are sad. They are very worried about Grady. I spent alot of time this week, trying to get Grady to play....but he wasn't all that interested. They put him on meds, which seemed to help. He didn't have any attacks all week, but he got really skinny all of a sudden.

I think he just wants to be a food hog. <rolleyes> That dog will do anything for attention.
